The mission of the Center for Health and the Environment is to understand the effect of environmental agents on the health of humans, animals and other organisms.
Scientists at the Center for Health and the Environment (CHE) carry out multidisciplinary research related to environmental exposures and the causes and prevention of adverse health effects. The focus of our research is the effect of environmental agents, including chemicals and radiation, on the health of humans, animals and other organisms. Researchers at the CHE conduct epidemiologic studies in human populations, and experiments are performed with animals, organisms, cells, and molecules to measure environmental exposures as well as health outcomes associated with them.
CHE is also home to the Western Center for Agricultural Health and Safety, a multidisciplinary research center that supports the prevention of illness and injury in Western agriculture.
