Transportation

The rapid transportation of massive quantities of people and goods is essential to our current way of life, but comes at a large environmental cost in the form of carbon emissions, air pollution, noise pollution, road and parking lot infrastructure, and energy consumption. Reducing the impacts of transportation is beneficial for the environment and human health. There are many ways to reduce these impacts including improvements in the design of streets and highways, improved vehicular technologies, better public transportation services, and behavioral modifications that limit the total amount of transportation.
