The Climate Past

The Earth has experienced many periods of rapid and extreme climate change. Understanding the triggers that led to these changes offers vital insight into how human activities are contributing to/triggering rapid climate change today. Faculty at UC Davis examine these mechanisms, and the potential impacts of climate change, by reconstructing past climate scenarios using the geological record, paleobiogeochemistry, and climate modeling.
