Professional Degree Program in Environmental Policy and Management
The John Muir Institute of the Environment has developed a professional Master of Science in Environmental Policy and Management to attract students who have primarily scientific and engineering backgrounds. The program will be designed to develop interest in learning how to apply scientific results to issues in environmental policy and management.
As one faculty member put it, “A high level Environmental Policy and Management graduate degree is desperately needed in this region…at all levels; private firms, local, regional, state and federal government and NGO's, knowledgeable, highly skilled and analytical professionals are needed to solve complex environmental problems.”
This master's degree will combine coursework in engineering, economics, law, political science, management, management science, human geography, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and ecology. We hope to solicit applications for admission to this program in 2007.
