The Davis Arts Center invites interested participants to a high-energy team sculpture competition on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Davis Art Center, 1919 F St., Davis. This 4th annual sculpture contest provides strong community visibility by bringing together local businesses, schools, students, artists, family and friends as participants and spectators. Junk 2 Genius promotes the arts as well as our community’s commitment to reduce, recycle and reuse - all while providing a fun, team-building experience!

Junk 2 Genius Highlights:
· Fun, energetic celebration of the creative reuse of donated cast- off materials.
· Timed team sculpture competition.
· Up to 15 teams, with maximum of 10 members (age 13+) per team.
· Each team will receive similar materials and will race against the clock to create a work of art.
· Teams are obligated to follow contest rules.
· Winner receives the Trophy du Trash Award, created by local artisan. People’s Choice Award given, too!
· Food, wine & beer available for purchase.
· Fun evening for the whole family!
