Food, Agriculture

Industrial agricultural practices are a major contributor to many environmental problems including habitat destruction, greenhouse gas emissions, erosion, water and air pollution, and nutrient loading. Agriculture also represents one of the most fundamental connections that humans have to the natural world. Sustainable agricultural practices not only have the ability to greatly reduce the negative impacts people have on the environment, they can foster a culture that is mindful and appreciative of the sustenance that the natural world provides. Therefore, agriculture can be a powerful tool for promoting an ethic that values environmentally conscious living and healthful eating.
