Climate Change Symposium

Challenges and Solutions for California Agricultural Landscapes

The 2005 Climate Change Symposium was a great success with over 200 participants, intriguing presentations, and lively discussion. Most of the presentations from the symposium are posted on this Web site and we invite you to browse them.

The Public Interest Energy Research (PIER) Program of the California Energy Commission published a report developed by UC Davis scholars which draws largely upon the information presented in this symposium. The report consists of an integrated analysis of potential impacts of climate change upon California agriculture, options for adaptation and/or mitigation, and identification of areas where key data are currently lacking. A PDF of the report can be accessed through the California Energy Commission's Climate Action Team Reports Web page (scroll down to the "Attachments" section - the document "Climate Change: Challenges and Solutions for California Agricultural Landscapes" is found in the "Appendicies to PIER Report" section) or directly by clicking here.
