Effects on Plants and Wildlife

California is a global biodiversity hotspot and contains a rich array of species found nowhere else in the world. Yet, the UN sponsored Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change predicts that up to a third of all species may be at increased extinction risk as a consequence of climate change. UC Davis specializes in understanding the impact of climate change on the biodiversity of the state.
